Hi, my name is Amy. I am a creative person who enjoys a challenge. From a young age I have always loved to make things. Using a whole range of materials, from paper and card to drift wood and spare pieces of fabric, I would create books, boats, drawings of houses and anything else I could think of.
My first steps into the professional world of design were as a graphic designer after graduating from the University of Reading. These first few steps led me into the world of publishing, in particular books for both adults and children. Behind the scenes my perpetual enthusiasm for interior design and architecture continued to grow. After buying my first house with my partner, and beginning our first redesign project, my passion grew.
Over the course of my property development project, I found and entered a competition with the renowned KLC School of Design and House & Garden magazine to win a place on KLC’s certificate course in Interior Design. Winning this competition gave me the chance to explore my dream and I have never looked back! After completing the certificate course, I spent some time working for Martin Hulbert Design in London. Working predominantly on residential projects in the UK and abroad, as well as a commercial hotel project.
My love of colour and pattern have always been evident in my designs. But what is really at the heart of my work is the drive to help people, by solving problems through design. Whether that be a lack of space, light or personality in their home; or a change in their life that brings new requirements. I am a great listener, always aiming to deliver beautiful solutions that perfectly solve my clients needs.
I have found the whole experience a delight and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Amy to any organisation looking to engage a talented, innovative recruit with strong planning, organising, presentation and communication skills.
